We specialize in obtaining affordable cancer insurance coverage for cancer patients and cancer survivors.
Cancer insurance, depending on what type of situation you are currently dealing with, or what type of cancer insurance coverage you are looking for, will determine the course of action you will need to pursue.
Caner insurance or the coverage of cancer related illnesses comes in many different forms. We will discuss much of the information you will need to use to determine which type of cancer insurance coverage you wish to purchase as briefly as we can.
The main types of cancer insurance coverage’s are: major medical health insurance, supplemental cancer insurance, cancer disability insurance, health insurance after cancer, and life insurance for cancer patients.
First of all, if you are looking for some type of insurance protection against cancer, and you already have a major medical health insurance policy in place, chances are you may not even need a cancer insurance policy. The reason is, depending on the type of health insurance plan you have in place, you may already have adequate cancer insurance coverage.
Understand what type of health insurance coverage you already have, before you purchase additional coverage. Having duplicated insurance coverage, and paying for this additional coverage makes no sense at all, unless you are the insurance company who is making the commissions. Make sure you are not buying additional cancer insurance out of fear or emotion. For some, there is a legitimate reason and purpose to buy this additional coverage, for others it’s just a purchase sparked by emotion.
It may make sense to purchase a supplemental cancer policy if you have a rather large deductible on your health insurance policy, say a $10,000 or higher deductible The only problem with doing that of course is your supplemental cancer insurance policy will only pay if you’re stricken with cancer. Even then, many policies will only cover the hospital expense associated with the cancer, and none of the in-home care, or rehabilitation that often can accompany cancer treatments. Understand exactly what the insurance benefits are that you are going to receive, and what the limits and exclusions are within that insurance policy.
Cancer disability insurance, this type of cancer insurance coverage will not in most cases pay for any costs associated with your cancer treatments, but rather this type of coverage will pay you a portion of your wages should you be diagnosed with cancer and you are forced to miss a significant amount of work. With this type of policy, there is usually a waiting period before the benefits begin, say 30 days of worked missed, and then depending upon the amount of benefit coverage you have selected, may only pay you 50% of your take home wages.
